What are the 2020 incoterms? Which one is the right one for my shipment?
Incoterms are basically international sales terms that define the obligations and responsibilities of the buyer and seller, that is, who pays what and who does what. Originally there are 11 different ones but the most recommended for imports is the FOB incoterm – Free on board. (The supplier will take care of delivering the merchandise to our Chinese warehouse closest to your location and we will take care of the complete shipping management to Spain.
When should transport costs and taxes be paid?
Usually, we do not request the costs in advance except in certain cases. The costs of land transport and taxes will be invoiced to you a few days before the arrival of the merchandise so that you can proceed to issue the payment, thus facilitating financing for our clients until the arrival of the merchandise.
Can our company manage the collection at origin?
Of course yes. Based on the so-called Incoterms, we can make shipments EXW – Ex Works, that is, we deal directly with the collection at the supplier's warehouses and manage the shipment to the delivery address in Spain that you provide us, including the passage through customs and payment of taxes for your total peace of mind and security.
What is the equivalence surcharge and when do I have to pay it?
The equivalence surcharge is a type of special VAT regime that is applied to retail merchants, whether they are individuals or communities of goods, never companies. Specifically, to those businesses that deal with the retail sale of goods that have not been transformed by them. The payment percentage amounts to 5.2% of the value of the merchandise and must be paid together with the tariff and VAT when making the customs declaration. We will be able to inform you of the calculation of the same and proceed to pay it on your behalf at the time of carrying out the customs procedure.
